The 2000 NAFCSC AGM Minutes

Held on Saturday, 10th June, 2000,
in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Meeting called to order by Jacky Meehan, NAFCSC President.

Roll call.

Distribution of club reports.

Period of remembrance.

Minutes of 1999 NAFCSC AGM read and accepted.

President's Report:

Last year (1999-2000) was a good year for the Federation.

Last night's NAFCSC Dinner Dance was a great occasion.

Currently 62 member clubs (up from 51 at 1999 AGM).

The Thomas McFadden fund raised $10,000 and a card of thanks from Josie McFadden (Thomas' mother) was read.

Treasurer's Report:

A brief summary due to time constraints.

Report on US account.

A reminder that clubs need to have paid their 2000-2001 membership to cast votes.

There is still money outstanding for last season's games.

All clubs are to send in 40 checks for matches before the season starts: no pay, no play...

NSF fee is $15.00 and two NSF checks and a blackout will ensue until the matter is cleared.

Report on Canadian account.

Canadian account to be phased out and all business conducted US dollars.

Vice-President's Report:

Satellite issues: The North American rights to Scottish League matches have been sold to a Florida based Spanish language cable service (IFC network). This is a cable only network, not intending to start broadcasting until January of 2001. The NAFCSC is working with Celtic FC and Setanta to repurchase rights, as this sale violates the agreement between the SPL and CSI regarding North American rights.

Over the last two seasons, clubs have seen an average of 40 matches per season.

Clubs should have all satellite systems fine-tuned before the first match of the season.

NAFCSC web page will have "troubleshooting page" to assist with common problems. The web site will also have satellite coordinates posted on it as soon as they are available.

Unfinished business:

One Amendment to the Constitution: Graeme Brown, Washington D.C. CSC, proposes that the position of Webmaster be added to the NAFCSC committee. Harry Aire, Hamilton Jock Stein Memorial CSC, amends motion to make the position an appointed, non-voting position. Motion is amended, seconded and adopted.

Election of Officers:

Vice-President: Tom Donnelly

Secretary: Mike Boyd

East Coast Representative: James McGwire

All officers re-elected by acclaim.
