The 2004 NAFCSC AGM Minutes

Held on Saturday, June 12th, 2004,
in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA


Meeting was called to order at 10:30 a. m. by Jacky Meehan, NAFCSC President.

Roll Call (46 Clubs present).

Distribution of club reports.

Period of remembrance;
a minutes silence was held for deceased NAFCSC members.


Minutes of 2003 NAFCSC AGM read.John Howley (Orlando CSC) moved to accept the minutes as read and Eddie McGraw (San Francisco CSC) seconded the motion. The motion passed.


President's Report:

Recognition of guests (Tosh McKinlay).

Jacky apologizes again for confusion about seats at the Dinner Dance.

Jackie mentioned that Jim McGuire (East Coast Representative) has changed mind about stepping down.

Good meeting, video footage needs to be edited for content details to follow.

Program shortage (getting second printing - let us know about needing more

Jacky thanked all the Executives of the NAFCSC clubs and stated that they deserve the appreciation of their individual members.


Treasurer's Report:

Peter Milligan noted that Information packets were distributed and the financials were reviewed at the President's meeting (Friday morning).


Vice-President's Report:

Small clubs important - need them to help contribute the Federation's well being.

Internet broadcast of matches is going to be the way of the future:
Celtic: "Celtic Replay won't affect you" -we think it does -
Setanta and Celtic are working on redefining relationship.

Tam made a comparison to NARSA - North American rights to UEFA cup ties were given to NARSA by rangers - resold to Setanta as a fund raiser.

Sunday matches (possibility of both matches on Digital at same time -has to be resolved - Tam will try to get us on the digital all the time, but have big dishes ready.

Question about Rangers club showing Celtic matches without charging - taking away revenue:
Tam responded that just as we charge, they should charge.

Question about reciprocity for member clubs:
Tam responded that the issue varies for each individual club.

Question about Setanta re broadcasting matches (on Setanta Pub Channel).
Matches can be rebroadcast after 72 hours.

Kilt draw won by James Smith (but won't look as good as it does on the Cat).

If re-elected will continue to work on behalf of Fed.

Tam would like to suspend regular business for
John Stephenson/Tommy Burns presentation on youth development at Celtic

meeting resumes after presentation.

Windsor Ontario will host the 2006 Annual General Meeting in early June 2006.

Unfinished business:

Amendments to NAFCSC Constitution: there were no proposed amendments to the constitution


Election of Officers:

Vice President (Currently Tom Donnelly):
Tom Donnelly was nominated by Larry Brown (Los Angeles CSC) and seconded by Jim O'Neill (Burlington CSC) and was elected by acclaim.

Secretary (currently Mike Boyd):
Mike Boyd was nominated by Tommy Hanlon (Cleveland CSC), seconded by John Neeson (Hawaii CSC) and was elected by acclaim.

East Coast Representative (currently Jim McGuire):
Jim McGuire was nominated by Willie O'Neill (Toronto CSC), seconded by Tommy Love (Los Angeles CSC). and was elected by acclaim.

Sergeant at Arms (one year replacement for Ian Gardner):
Stephen McManus was nominated by John McGregor (Windsor CSC), seconded by Seamus Cummins (Philadelphia CSC).
Tom Strain was nominated by John Rose (Bramalea CSC), seconded by Larry Brown (Los Angeles CSC).
Stephen McManus declined and Tom Strain was elected by acclaim

New Business:

A reminder to all members and guests that the AGM is restricted to Federation business and all attendee's should be aware that breaking this rule will result in the Sergeant at Arms removing violators.

Suggestions to improve Dinner Dance:

Individual members of clubs to assist directing guests to tables and seats

Table numbers and breakdown of tables distributed earlier in week

Individual clubs can pick tickets up before Friday afternoon.

A motion was made to adjourn; the meeting adjourned at 1:15 p. m.
